The Raleigh Motus and Captus , Bosch crank driven electric bikes are now in stock at Axcess-electric-bikes and available for test rides.
Both bikes share the same crossbar and step-through frames together with the Bosch 250 watt Active Line mid motor which has found such favour throughout Europe. Each is also equipped with the Bosch Intuvia Display with 4 power settings, showing range, speed, and time information, Schwalbe Energiser 700 X 38 tyres, Selle Bassano comfort saddle and Suntour NEX suspension forks.
Priced at £2000 The Motus is the better specified bike with Magura HS11 Hydraulic rim brakes and brake levers, SRAM Via Centro 10 speed derailleur and Shift levers. Shimano front wheel dynamo runs the front and rear lamps. The motor is powered by a Bosch 400 watt (36V X 11.1 Ah) lithium battery.
The Captus priced at £1750 is good value for an electric bike with the advantages of the Bosch motor and Intuvia display. The level of equipment on the bike reflects the price. Raleigh V Brakes, 9 speed cassette with Shimano Altus derailleur and Shift levers are specified with a Bosch 300 watt (36V X 8.33 Ah) Lithium battery, which should give the Rider a 25 mile range over a hilly terrain.
These 2 bikes mark a significant step forward for Raleigh in the electric bike market.
