EXMOOR2 Small Step-Through
Redesigning the smallest bike in the range was a challenge to fit the new battery style into a 17” (440mm) frame with a shorter reach to the handlebars and smaller 24” wheels. It shares all the common parts with the 26” Wheel Hunter2, though the motors are geared differently for optimum performance. The smaller frame bike has proved popular among customers around 5ft tall for whom a standard bike is unweildy. The new bike is shorter overall that its predecessor and so is neater to store or fit on a Motorhome.
The Exmoor2 can either be fitted with a 36V X 10Ah battery or a long distance 36V X 16Ah battery. The battery fits into the frame on the left-hand side and locks in. It can either be charged in situ or taken out and charged away from the bike. The rider controls the electric part of the bike through a new LED display offering 5 power options.
The bikes are designed for 50/50 pedal assist with throttle override. The new much faster-acting pedal assist sensor cuts power in virtually immediately as the pedals are turned and cuts out equally as quickly if you stop pedalling or brake. The right-hand thumb throttle allows the bike to travel 4mph from a standing start. This ensures immediate power to aid hill starts. When riding, the throttle overrides the pedal assist and gives full power up to 15.5mph (25kph for EU law.)
The bikes are fitted with a rotation pedal assist sensor, so the rider can always benefit from the full power of the bike even if unable to pedal strongly. Many other components have been modified to create a modern everyday reliable electric bike -including, the rear hub motors, the comfort saddles and front suspension forks.
As with all Axcess brand e-bikes, there are a number of options that can be fitted to customise the bike to the new owner’s wishes and to ensure comfortable riding
