The Falcon Turbine is an alloy frame 21 gear bicycle with the advantage of a 250w 36V electric motor and a 10Ah battery which should give you 30 miles of assistance. The frame is a classic low crossbar frame with 7 gear derailleur on the rear and 3 chain wheels. The 27.5″ wheels are fitted with Multi-terrain MTB tyres suitable for road and track use either for leisure rides or Cycle to Work. 160mm disc brakes are fitted front and rear.
On the electric side the rider has 3 power options selected on by the LED display on the Left Hand handlebar. The bike can also be ridden with the power OFF but the battery switched ON so that you can select the power you need instantaneously. The display has an OFF and ON button and also shows battery state and is equipped with a Walk Start Button. This enables the bike to travel up to 4mph (6kph) without the pedals being turned. This is most useful for hill starts, and if you need to push the bike at any time. Normally when you move off, the Pedal Assist power cuts in making pedaling easier. When you stop pedaling the Pedal Assist cuts out. But if you apply the brakes, there are electronic switches in the levers that cut the motor instantaneously.
The battery is locked into the down tube and can be charged either on or off the bike. The bike is supplied with a 36V X 2Ah charger so that a full charge is about 5 hours. However, there is no memory in the battery, so the bike can be re-charged after every ride, so that you have a fully charged battery every time you go out.
